Price Screen & Digital was founded by Max Price in 1970 after 18 years as general manager of a sign and ticket writing company. In the early 1960’s Max was instrumental in pioneering one of the first commercial screen printing facilities in South Australia. This was a turning point of the industry where a craftsman style industry became the more commercial industry it is today.
Max started out in a small rented shop in Edwardstown South Australia with only one employee. Over the next couple of years after employing five more staff it became obvious we were rapidly out-growing these premises and needed to move.
In 1973, Max purchased his first factory, which is still part of the factory complex today. Again, a few years later with consistant growth it was clear we still required more space. So in 1980 an extension to the existing factory was built which more than doubled the production facility. Late in 1982 it was decided a second factory would be purchased to again double the manufacturing area of the facility. From 1982, the company has turned its focus to investing in the latest technology and equipment to ensure Price Screen & Digital is on the leading edge of our industry and able to offer our clients the very best quality and service possible.
In 1993, Max decided to hang up his squeegee and retired, handing over the reigns to his son Martin, who has been involved in the business since 1977 and the driving force behind the technological changes over the past 30 years. Groomed by Max to take over the management of the company, Martin has been managing director since Max’s retirement. Martin has steered the company throughout these hi-tech years, leading Price Screen to where it is today as one of the leading screen and digital printing companies in Australia.
