The Pentek DGD-5005 Dual Gradient Density Filter works as a pre and post filter all-in-one to filter extra fine sand, dirt, silt, rust, and scale particles. The outer layer of the DGD-5005 has a 50 micron rating which filters most of the larger sediment out of the water. The water then passes through the inner layer of Polypropeylene which has a 5 micron rating that filters the finer sand, dirt, sediment, and scale particles. The DGD-5005 eliminates the need for dual whole house filtration systems.
